| Education - Learning for life |
As a family, we are truly blessed.
In total, 49 children are school age and week days start
very early
|
| At 5:30 AM Gledson wakes up
the group of children who attend the morning-shift of
school. They wash, dress, |
| have breakfast and are driven
to school in the Kombi. Those who study at the more distant
schools are dropped |
| off first and
then the others - it takes two trips. Gledson
also collects the children from
|
 |
| school. 31 of the children attend regional state
schools and the remaining 18 have |
| scholarships to study at private schools. The
children are eager to learn and have plans |
| to complete higher education courses such as medicine
and dentistry. It is rewarding to |
| see their smiles and satisfaction as
they go to and return from school, knowing their
|
| goals are gradually being reached and
rejoicing that their ways are being guided by God. |
| They all work very hard so we have
to have a lot of home school. To help this little
group we employ two teachers who share two shifts. |

We have some special students |
| Samuel is one of our handicapped children, who, besides his swimming
activities is being helped by Dr. Heloisa, |
| the physical training teacher. Heloisa
has developed special tasks to help Samuel with his limitations.

| Amanda's school |
|
 |
|
| Amanda is a very special, happy child. She came
to us when she was only two |
| years old. She was badly injured, but the Lord
blessed her and repaired her little |
| body. She is now in her first school year and is
showing great promise. |
