| The Shelter Project |
one more accomplished dream |
 |
This Shelter home is part of the Happy Family Ministry
|
| Victims of poverty and negligence, but principally of unkindness, lack of love and |
| desertion, many childrentoday opt for living on the street. Despite the Statute that |
| guarantees their rights, they are marginalised by society which sees them to be the |
| main cause of urban violence and many other problems. |
|
After adopted 55 children, in 1997 the first shelter house was opened. |
| The desire to still help children, was always present in Celida and that is how
came up the Shelter House Happy |
| Children Nook, the first one that accepted
to receive new-born children. Until today, more than 200 children |
| passed by
the Project, supported by the couple, that do anything to take care of the
children like true parents, |
| offering a home, medical, dental and psychological assistance, love and a very special attention.
There are ca- |
| ses about children that don't have opportunities to come back
home or be adopted, specially the olders and lo- |
| ts of them are definitely
receptioned by the Happy Children Project. |
...We help children in risk situation |
| The number of homeless, abandoned and mistreates children and teenagers
still scaring people in Belo Horizon- |
| te. For protect them from the suffers, the
Childhood Judge and the Guardian Counsel count with the "Shelter |
| Houses", legally associations that offer to them a temporary home until their
families situacion be suitable. Lots |
| of them are conducted to "shelters" for to
be protected from the threats they suffer or the risks they are chap |
| for.
One of the biggest aspects that do the number of children that need a home growing up is the families's |
| social and economic situation.
To resolve this problem and decrease the children suffers, one of the
solutions is |
| to create big campaigns for the born control and income beget. |

help people and specifically, to support

This has been the motive for much joy to us and |

until their legal situation was
resolved by the |

Unfortunately, the following report

We were always
receiving children, |
with the opposite.
It shows cruelty that has become co- |

same in the begin- |

and repetitive in many families.
Such acts in- |

Our desire has always been to |
