Helpened Children
Some helpened children
Lorran
Today (11/2003) he live in the shelter home. Lorran together with his mother
was run over by a car and had several serious wounds. After the confirmation
that his mother was suffering from "Alcoholic syndrome" , and that at the time
the accident she was intoxicated, the court decided to remove the child from the mother for the child's safety.
The child fractured his skull and is now blind. The Lord is restoring Lorran's physical and emotional health. Day by
day we can clearly see the progress he is making. Today, (june/2002) two years after his arrival, we praise God
that he has started to walk. He has recovered 40%of his vision and can say a lot of words. Our great joy is to
see him play with a ball all on his own. A great part of his treatment was carried out in the Sara Kubichek Hospi-
tal in Belo Horizonte. His treatment is free and is carried out by voluntary ophthalmic and phonographic specialis-
ts.
Mauro
My name is Mauro and I am seven months old. I am the beautiful in the photo below ! I am go-
ing to stay for a few days in Uncle Gledson and Auntie Celida's Shelter home. My story is that
my mother was very young when I was born. She did not have means of looking after me and
neither did my grandmother, with whom my mother left me for her to take care of me. My grandmother took me
to the Children's Care Council who accepted me and sent me to the Shelter Home. Please pray for me, in order
that the judges can find a new family for me.

Paula

Iara
She arrived about one week ago and we are trying to help her. She has been to FEBEM (gover-
nment insitution for underaged abandoned children) and also safe houses for street kids. She
can't go back home because she is afraid for her life. Her father has threated her.
