| Helpened Children |
Some helpened children |
 |
Jessica |
 |
| With much joy,
we have received (02/2003)
little two-month-old Jessica. |
| This picture has become commonplace to us.
Cruel treatment and abandonment |
| The mother is an alchoholic and drug addict.
Jessica was adopted love the first view |
|
 |
Alex |
 |
| One more baby - weighing only 3lbs !
He does not have a name as yet - just li- |
| kemany other babies we have received.
He was born to a very poor mother |
| and has seven other brothers and sisters.
Because the mother had very little |
|
| food during the gestation period, her baby
was born suffering from malnutrition.
So the child was in an Intensive |
| Care Unit for 22 days.
The authorities recognised that, if she had just remained with her mother, she would not |
| live very long.
Eight months later
he go back to the family. |
 |
Diogo and Diego |
 |
| We have received two more children.
We have received two more children, |
| brothers, at our Shelter Home. They have
come from the nearby town of Santa |
| Luzia. Diogo, (8 months old), and Diego, (1
year, 8 months old). We will look af- |
|
| ter these children until their mother is able to
take up her responsibilities. Their mother is only 16 years old and |
| has mental problems. Please pray for them and continue to pray all for us. |
 |
Alessandra and Hudson |
 |
| One more case of abandonment...
The difficulties that the Brazilian people ha- |
| ve to face to survive are so many
times we are unable to see how we can help |
| people in a practical way. This was
the case with Alessandra's mother, who has |
|
| to go to the centre of the city every
day to sell cigarettes and sweats in order to sustain the family (Hudson and |
| her
three other brothers).
This meant that the five children were abandoned to their own good luck evry day ! |
| We were approached by the city's Counsel for Children, who brought Alessandra
and Hudson to us in a state of |
| very poor health, suffering from acute anemia and
malnutrition and also have difficuly walking. Alessandra is |
| four years old, but because of the malnutrition, she appears to be only 2.
Although Hudson is much better phy- |
| sically, he still remains very agitated and
nervous, crying all the time because of the traumatic experiences he |
| has suffered.
(2 months later)
We have prayed and the Lord Jesus has performed many miracles in this and in |
| other lives,
for we have in Him faith and hope.
Our greates desire is to continue seeing the Lord making
great |
| changes in these and in many other lives. |
