| This is Paulo Henrique (4),
Another abused child. His father punished him burning his hand

| punching him in the face cause him to lose a tooth. Now he
is feeling better and more at ease. |
| When he arrived, he was
confused with everything, considering his circumstances. His
parents |

| will certainly lose custody of him. We are waiting for a court decision. |

Junior and Joice |
| These are Junior (3) and Joice (4),
Victims of neglect and abandoment. They arrived in the be- |
| ginning of last week. The mother can't afford to take care of
these children. We are waiting on |
| a court decision for their situation. |

Priscila |
| She is the third baby we have received this week !
(February 2003).
This one is called Priscila |
| and is 40 days old. Her story is a very sad.
This child was badly beaten by her mother, an ado- |
| lescent, 13 years old.
Priscila was thrown against a wall on several occasions.
I know that it is |
|
| difficult to believe, but it's the truth.
As a result of the violent treatment she suffered, she has various fractures |
| on her arms, legs and ribs
She has been in hospital for two weeks and today, 12th of
February, she was able to |
| leave. Priscila will stay with us until the Children's Judiciary decide
her future.
